2 911 engines, need help to ID

I need help IDing and engine in my friends 77 911s.
9301011044R. I think it's a 3.0, not sure.
Next engine, these are the numbers,
vertical by fan 6290864
Oil cooler Behr 001770H7 901 107 041 02
Heads 901 105 111 OR
Any help in identifying would be appreciated, thanks.

9301011044R is a part number, not an engine number.
I would say a 3.0 litre family.

The 930 101 104 4R number was on the bottom passenger side of the engine case. Thanks.

With a 930 casting # on the case, the 6290854 engine # translates to a 1979 type 930/04 911SC US engine, so yes, a 3.0 engine.
You should look for the type # stamped into the case not far from the serial #; down and to the right on the horizontal surface.

more numbers

I have the rest of the numbers for the engine in the 77.
The vertical number is 6281579.
The horizontal number is 930/707. Not sure of the last three numbers,
they were hard to read.

The other engine.
Vertical number is 6290864.
Horizontal number is 901/09.
Someone said it is a 1969 engine, so I assume it's a 2.0 litre.

Thanks.

As per djpateman for the other engine, the type does not match the serial number.

628xxxx is type 930/04, L Series (Aug 77 - Jul 78) 3.0 Liter

was fitted on Chassis Serial 9118200001-9118202436,911SC 49 State

But the Red Book could be wrong...
