Does chrome moulding for SC still exist?

I have been searching and looking - is there a source for a conversion from black to chrome moulding for an 83 SC? full kit required

I believe our host sells the front and rear widshield trim in chrome. I doubt you can still buy the window frames new? Maybe Sierre Madre sells them NOS? I bet they are $$$$ if available. I guess you know you can strip yours.

black to bright window trim ?'s
Here is one of quite a few threads on this subject.
On the right colour of car this is a very worthwhile project.

Dark to bright

When I repainted my SC, I had all of the trim off and decided that I would not have a better opportunity to change it from black to bright. Basically what I did was to sand off the anodizing and use polishing wheels mounted on a bench grinder motor to polish out the sanding marks. While the end results are very rewarding, the process requires much effort and dedication. So, the bottom line is, can it be done? Yes. Should it be done? That depends on you!

It's not chrome. It's aluminum that has been polished and clear-anodized. You can still buy the major pieces, if not all of them. You can also have what's already on your car refinished, if you spend enough money on it. I use King of Trim, on the west coast.

Thanks guys.. I'll look into the polishing approach and hope for decent results

What about the door handles? I don't think plating them would look good would it?

There's a guy on this forum that does it - I think he quoted me around $1200. I can dig up his name if you like. I'm still thinking about having mine done. Another option I'm considering is chrome powder coating them - looks a lot like polished alum.

I believe the door handles are chrome.

Always loved the look of your car, Fred -- especially w/the 930S type front valence.

This is going to sound stupid but i had chrome door handles that i sanded all the chrome off down to the aluminum and polished to match all my trim which was originally black anodized . So i know you can do that type of handles.Im not a big fan of chrome and perfer the look of polished aluminum better. Btw has any one done this to there headlight rings.
