Is it OK to fuse all 3 wires going into 58a for dash light fuse at headlight switch?
For other beginners, here is some more info on this project:
One question. I fused all 3 wires going into 58a. The dash light wire has that piggyback clip on the end. If I only wanted to only fuse this wire, I'd have to do some cutting and move that piggyback clip to the end of my red fuse wire, right? I really didn't want to cut up the OEM wiring, so I just fused all 3 wires. Is this ok? What are the other 2 black/blue wires for? License plate light and what else? http://i57.tinypic.com/35hkcoy.jpg http://i58.tinypic.com/15rm875.jpg http://i60.tinypic.com/imnxpc.jpg http://i61.tinypic.com/1417ez9.jpg |
Wires.
1. Ashtray light.
2. Ventilation fan indicator light. |
Ok, so in that case, I am just going to leave the 3a fuse for all 3.
Worse case is that they all go out if the 3a blows. I don't see the downside. Seems simpler than splicing more wires. Time to go button it all back up. |
Fusing all of them is the best solution. Any of them can cause the dash harness to "let the smoke out". :)

Thanks Guys
Took me 10 mins with your help to install the fuse in a RHD. Took me longer to find a 3amp fuse :) |
