1984 targa window adjustment
The windows in my 1984 Targa go up about 1/2 inch to high. How do you adjust them?

You need to remove the inner door panel and adjust the stop on the regulator mechanism. There is a booklet explaining all the adjustments that can be done on the windows and Targa top to eliminate (well, minimize?) leaks.
PM me if you'd like me to email a PDF of the manual.

+1 get the service manual
take the panels off, be careful not to over torque the 4 allen bolts for the handle, the door tin is really soft.Take a pic of the power window control before disconnecting the wires When you adjust the stop, do couple of test raises to insure it stops where you want it. I found the stop allow the motor to push the glass up about 1/8" up beyond the stop on my car. Also you will need to adjust the parallelism to insure the glass fits in under the rubber channel properly and does not pinch the lip of the channel in. It takes awhile to do but worth it. You need a bit of OCD to make this work.
