Pelican parts discount codes... what happened to these?

It seems like in the past, I often got emailed coupon codes for 10-20% off, etc. Lately, these seem awefully rare. I am now getting emails about events, links to DIY articles, etc... but few coupons. The last one was a while ago, and it was for 5% off.

I mention this as I like to stay loyal to sites I visit often. I know it costs money to run a site. Thats why most sites charge a fee to join (10-20$) per year, etc - which I gladly pay.

Other competitors are sending coupon/discount codes pretty frequently. Some are having 20% off sales all of the time.

On expensive items, 20% adds up to huge dollar amounts.

Have you guys noticed this? Just curious. It would seam that to prevent loss of customers, sites often match each others coupons, etc.

I know running a web site ain't cheap. But others send out full color catalogs, which isn't cheap either.

Just trying to figure out if something has changed? Are the coupon codes getting phased out? Seems like they were a nice advertising point, as folks do tend to order more when its on sale...

Perhaps there is something you need to do to get the coupon codes? Just trying to figure it out. Thought others might be wondering too.

Anyone else notice this? If everyone else is getting the 10-20% off codes, then carry on .

I've been receiving the discount codes again. Usually they are smaller... $5 off a $25+ order, or 5% off $100 or more.
They usually show up a few weeks after an order.

I appreciate them... and it does help keep some of my business with Pelican.

You only get codes if you ordered recently. The codes are based on previous orders and expire in a month I think

I just received a $20 coupon to be used on minimum $150 purchase following an order I placed 2 weeks ago

I have always found it annoying that Pelican sends out the discount emails shortly after I have made a purchase. It would be a lot more useful to get one before I order than right after.

Hmm.. I have placed several orders recently, but I cannot seem to find a coupon for the recent one.. 5% is still something and I'd rather redeem it than not.

Just gotta find the darn thing cos I need to place an order now!
