Quick opinion on my Carrera script
Hi Guys,
I know I am asking for personal reactions, and I already have my own opinion. I would still be interested in what you all think of this color combo. It is signal orange and light gray. The artificial light is not kind to either. Nonetheless... Thanks in advance, Dave http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1416621111.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1416621122.jpg |
Looks white, which I don't like but I like the idea of grey- I'm sure it looks more grey in person. I think if the wheel centers matched it would really pop :)
|
I like the gray and orange combo, but IMO would look better with a little darker cool gray shade. In the end the only one that has to love it is you.
|
BTW the source of the graphic is Mike Zois at NBD Graphics. Great guy, and great service, but lots of you already know that.

Thanks, I appreciate the input.

Looks great! I'm hoping to do something similar next season.
|
I love it! Great color combo
|
Since you asked, since your trim, windows, etc is black, I would go that direction to tie all of it together. Either dark gray or black. Great car.
|
My first impression was that I loved it.
|
Looks great. Silver would be cool too.
Drive it around a bit, and figure out how you like it. Subtle things need time for evaluation. Still, it ;looks great to me. If it is a pure grey, with no other color, it will not clash with orange. |
It's a different take on the graphic. Looks nice on the orange. The easy choice was black, with the very dramatic contrast.
This is more subtle, and it works well. My first reaction was positive. How does it look out in the wild? You know, the glance across the street, or seeing it out in a parking lot. From a distance does it please the eye? For me, that is my test; if I saw it out on the street would I want it for my own? Curious, what look were you going for? Your opinion is actually more valuable than mine, because it's your car. :) |
I like matching the script to the wheels!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1416663964.jpg

Dave I like - question, is your front windshield tinted
Ernie |
Hi Ernie,
Thanks for the input. No, the windshield is not tinted, but all the other windows are tinted. I'm not fully in love with the tints, but they may help with cooling in the Summer. Dave |
Looks great just the way you have it. I think gray would be even better but thats my 2 cents.
|
I agree with the idea that a darker gray would be better. I am going to change it to Middle gray #074 from Mike. Here is a pic from another thread of the color values I am shooting for. The current gray just reads too much like white.
Thanks, and I will update with new pictures when applied. BTW I found the wet application method is much easier for me. Dave http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1416675638.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1416675666.jpg |
id like to see it out in the sun... looks like a nice clean ride.

Hi again, guys,
Mike sent another script today. It is darker, and much closer to what I had envisioned. I cut a small swatch to help me decide. The weather here has taken a gloomy turn, so natural light is in short supply. Please see what you think of the small sample on the orange background. I love it Dave! If you like it that's all that matters. . .nice car
