Condensor mounting advice

hi,

I'm about to reinstall aircon in my 911. With everything that I've read about early aircon systems in 911's I want to make the exercise worthwhile, I want cold air.

Appreciate any advice regarding placement of aircon condensor. i am planning to mount a condensor and fan unit in the left front gaurd, and install a new washer bottle.

I'm aware that small condensors are often mounted under the chin spoiler or underneath the car however i thought that by placing it in the gaurd I would be able to place a larger condensor and fan, greatly increasing the efficiency of the system.

I live in Australia and it gets awfully hot down here so I need a system that really spits ice chips.

Let me know what you think. Anything that i should be aware of that I may not have considered.

Regards

Jim

I'm like you the colder the better. Here in S. Florida it's hot + humid.I'v tried fans on the existing condensor"s (rear and front)and found a fan placed on the rear condensor doesn't work' I got higher temps when on, because it interfeared with the motor's fan(the alt. 11 blade) and I removed it. I now run with an additional under the floor pan condensor(it's large)and I'll get temps in the 50's all day long, even better when the sun is not high in the sky. I removed some of my front Valance and got it (condenser)in the air stream. After I cleaned -up my evaporater(79sc.)my machanic sprayed it with some caustic liquid,(smelled like batt. acid) the improvments were very noticable.

Michael,
Can you go iinto a bit more detail on the additional under floor condensor. Where did you get it and where exactly did you fit it.
Thanks

Juan,
Are you talking about your rear condensor or the ones at the front?

Jim
