Front bellow fitment 1985

I am trying to fit my new front bellows. The old ones perished so were all over the shop.

I am not sure if they should tuck behind the lower valence.

If so the lower valence will be leaving a gap between itself and the front bumper to accommodate the bellow lower trim.

Ive looked at several pictures and im not sure what is correct.

This is not my car, but shows what im talking about.

That's wrong, they should tuck behind.

The bellows tuck in behind the lower valence. I have about a 13 mm gap between the bumper and valence. My left front bellow use to look like Duane's until I corrected it.

When I got my car they were hanging over, like this:

When I fixed a bunch of stuff in the front bumper I fixed the bellows. Now they are properly tucked in:

They must have been hanging over for years because the paint on the lower valence is rubbed off in those spots.

Thanks JR!

I just tried to tuck them and it's not going to be easy. Looks like I might have to at least loosen the front valance to get them in.

They also have reinforcing wires inserted into them on the back side, so you might make sure those are installed properly, too.

Good point by JR. When you buy new bellows, these reinforcing wires are NOT included. So you may have to source the wires or make your own.

Perfect thanks. I reached the conclusion there must be a gap. Basically around the number plate it's flush to the bumper. Then from the fog lights there is the 13mm gap and the bellow tucks in.
