Tips for re-installing CIS
Hello,
I'm getting ready to reinstall my CIS onto my 3.0 SC engine. I have the engine out of the car. I am just wondering if anyone has any tips to make it go smoother? I did a search but nothing turned up. Thanks |

if you have the CIS as a complete unit and it is undisturbed it is a very straight forward process. Sometimes i lave a couple of the rubber boots left loose for positioning the runners but other than that there is noting to it.
There is only 13 nuts holding the thing in . 12 nuts for the runners and one bracket on the throttle plate. a couple of tips. dont mix up the CSI and the airplate cut off connections, they are the same colour. dont forget the spring from the lever on the throtle plate on the case to the number 2 runner. thats a pain in the ass to do later. make sure the throtte plate bushings are in good order. get everything on and flat as possible before puting your first nut and washer on .. you dont want one falling into a cylinder through the gap. dont forget the connectors for the WUR and tha vacuum switch ting than i can never remmber the name of. VVT or something. dont forget the connector for the Auxilary air alve. Thats pretty well it .. .

CIS reassembly I'm sure Tony (911tboysc) will chime in here, but once reassembled, you'll to want to check your fuel pressures. That process is documented many time over so no need to elaborate here, but I suggest leaving the wire retaining clip off of the WUR electrical connector until AFTER you've completed the test. It's a pain to remove and has the potential to snap off into some black hole section of your engine compartment that is now full of well... engine. ![]()
