Carrera 3.2 idle setting?

Hi,

when driving, taking foot off the throttle and engaging the clutch the revs seem to drop below the normal idle slightly ( say down to 950 ) and then the needle 'bounced'/correct itself back up to a steady 1000rpm.

Couple of times, before fully warmed up, this has happened and the revs. have dropped so low it sounded as if the engine was about to stall, before it corrected itself?

Car has not been driven much over the past couple of years, but has done 350+ miles over the past two weeks and the problem / symptom seems constant.

Funnily enough, mine does that, only when its cold though, it has just started doing it these last couple of days. (I think winter is here now)

Anyway, from a brief search this morning, one of the things that could cause this is a rich running condition. I know that at the last MOT I had done last month they said that my emissions were in the upper limit, they did not have the necessary tool to do the adjustment for me,

It is on my to-do list, let me know if you find anything else

Check out this thread gentlemen, it was one of my first questions on this forum. It turned out to be a very easy fix. The micro-switch for being "off-throttle" was not engaging. Tweaked the linkage a little, cleaned off the "gunk" and made sure that the micro-switch was being depressed when I was totally off the gas.

Siena911: The linkages and this switch adjustment can be outside temperature sensitive. The expansion/contraction of the linkage can cause enough movement to NOT depress the microswitch when you let off the gas.
