				Drove my friends 993, Wow!

I drove a 1997 993 yesterday, man what a nice car. The car has 33,000 miles on it and he picked it up for $47K. The biggest difference to me was the engine develops power throughout the rpm band. Steering, suspension, engine sound, dash layout, brakes, body lines, everything was just awesome. This is his first Porsche, not bad. My first Porsche was a rusted out 72 911T.

Imagine that motor in a car 700 pounds lighter!

Ditto...a friend of mine has a 98' 993 Carrera S...what a machine. What is cool is the constant refinement of the cars all the way to '98, and wow does that engine scream...

Trivia...my brother lives in west LA..he always talks to 911 mechanics at his repair/service shop..brother says than many 993 are comming to the shops for top end rebuilds at about 60k miles..the mechanics suspect that routine LA street driving is causing this..anyway, when Jim Sims says "drive it like you stole it" he may be correct....................Ron

Muhahahahaha...993WDP picks up a convert! Ron, I hope the mechanics your brother was talking to are wrong, I just hit 50k miles and don't want to start thinking about top end jobs just yet.

Jim..in LA the 911 scenc has many routine drivers..and the attitude was that they can't wind them up on LA streets..I mean I saw some of them walk out of stores with hands full of bags and put the bags on the roof while they search for the keys..go figure.........Ron

HAHA. Yes!!!! 993WDP AWAY............ I love the pull on these things and it has better A/C than a Benz. If only it were 1000 lbs lighter, oh well. But the best part is the backend view......gotta love it. Princeton | ||

Try the Twin Turbo. Extra 140hp or so. "Only breathing between shifts" quick.
