capacitor on 69 wiper motor, why?

On my 69, there is a capacitor that is supposed to be connected to my wiper motor. Would anybody happen to have a pic where it connects (it's been 5 years since I took it off)? Anybody know the purpose?

Tom

One purpose of a cap is electronic noise suppression, I dont know if that is the reason it was put in the circuit however

It's there so you can hear the radio

A capacitor on a small electric motor suppresses electrical spark radiation from the commutator which you hear as noise on the radio. The nearer the motor is to the antenna the more likely it is to cause a problem. Capacitors would either be connected between + and - connections on the motor or between + and a local ground screw or bolt nearby. Capacitors are polarity sensitive so make sure it goes on the right way.

Only electrolytic of course . not sure if that one is but dont panic if the cap has no markings to indicate polarity.

So sounds like PO installed and it's not really needed. Especially with modern radios.
