Cary:

That car looks better each time I see it. The polished lips are a nice touch to the package.

We'll be expecting video next.

Regards,

It wouldn't be a very pretty video.
With all those cones stuck to it ( under it ). It was a cone magnet this weekend.

Let's try braking a little bit later, from 50 mph.
Needless to say,
It was a lumpy 225 mile ride home.

Paul, the gearbox that Gordon built just hit 1200 miles. It is AWESOME.
I had a great weekend in Spokane. 600 miles on the car. 250 over at 90 mph. TOOOOO cold Saturday AM on the way over. Never above 160 degrees. So I never stretched it out. But she wanted too. I'll need to close up the A/C hole in the tail in the fall/winter. Front oil cooler never opened.

2 days of A-X. At Spokane Raceway Park. Still about 8 seconds off overall FTD. ( excluding the Formula Atlantic car that showed up )
2 seconds to go before I switch to sticky tires.

So I over inflated my flat spotted tires to 37/35 and headed home. After about 100 miles they started the settle down. So by the time I hit Missoula. I could drive with one finger. Kept her down to 80 in the dark. But I couldn't help myself in the twisty's.
I love going up and down Lookout Pass.

Trying to get out of here ( work ). Need to go home and change the gear box fluid. And wax the cone marks off the spoiler.

Simply beautiful! If the driving doesn't work out, just park it and stare!

Cary, don't let a lack of basic skills get in the way of your learning to drive the car.

I mean that only partially as a joke -- I honestly think I'm in the bottom ten percentile of drivers when it comes to track driving. But my approach is to ignore that fact, and just spend more time out there, gradually improving -- slowly plowing over the fact that I lack the inborn talent of some of the guys you'll see posting on Pelican (like Randy Wells and Tyson Schmidt).

When I go to a new track, I think it takes me at least twice as long as anyone else to learn it. So… I spend twice as much time learning it. I'm slow as molasses at the start. But if I don't get hung up on that fact, and focus on just copying the faster guys, I can proceed to slowly and methodically reel just about everyone in.
