Factory Manuals on CD?
There are people on eBay selling so-called factory service manuals on CD-ROM. Anyone know anything about this? Are they actually the factory manuals? Quality? Clarity?
Thanks.

Someone scanned in the factory service manuals - quality depends completely on the person who scanned them
Selling them is a violation of copyright. On the other hand, the factory manuals are on backorder from now until god only knows. Let your conscience be your guide - be warned that Porsche chases copyright violations down with ruthless efficiency. AFJuvat

I contacted one seller on eBay about his 'Factory Manual on Cd' for a Carrera. His reply was that it was a scan of Bentley.
Be careful.

I've seen the CD of the 911 factory manuals. A "friend of mine" has one. It is basically a collection of scanned pages from the original manual in PDF format. The quality is not great, but adequate.
It is a personal moral question, is the $200 or $300 (or more) you will save worth fringing on Porsche's copyright? Many will say yes, some will say no. |
