964 Calipers on Early Model

Hi, can 964 4 pod calipers be used on early model struts? Take a look at the link in the suspension part..... it says the car is on Boge 3.5" struts and running 964 4 pod calipers... It also has them on the rear. How is this doable?

Thank you and a happy new year to all :-)

There are several way to mount 964 calipers on a 911, the one shown in the link is a poor way to do it. They quite prominently mention that 964 calipers are used f/r, they conveniently omit any mention of what rotors are used. My best guess from the pics is 3.2 Carrera front rotors and either 996 or 968M030 rear rotors. The 3.2 Carrera rotors are 24x283mm, 964 front caliper call for a minimum of 26x298mm rotors. The rear rotors at least appear to be properly sized regardless of where they are from but there is something hinky about the way the caliper is sitting, it is way up at the top w/ a very small tilt to allow bleeding, additionally the rotors won't fit the parking brake properly, causing either diminished or zero parking brake function.

To properly use 964 calipers on a 911 either do it the way VCI does bu using a 964 front caliper and rotor set, though I don't really like their rear solution much

or spend a lot more to
1) convert the 964 front calipers from axial to radial mounts
2) use them on 930 32x304 front 2 piece rotors, or aftermarket equivalents
3) modify the 964 rear caliper mounts by filing the oe mounting holes and then redrilling for use on 930 28x309mm rotors, the caliper throats will need to be opened up a tad too, easily done w/ a grinder(some pads in the back will also need to be ground down a tad too)

Thanks..... Another question, would there be any gains in using carrera 3.2 front struts on an early model, would that allow the use of 964 or other caliper better than the standard early model ones?
