I buy most of my stuff through Pelican, but I have a friend who works for a parts store and can sometimes get me pretty good deals (employee discount) on stuff.
Anyway I got him to order me a fuel filter and oil filter. I asked for Mahle, but ended up with Mann. He was told by his supplier that they are the same filters. They definitely look the same. Does anyone know if Mahle and Mann filters are the same? Thanks, Rob. |

Obviously different manufacturers, but I think the same quality. Mahle and Mann seem to be the filters of choice for high-end European automobiles. My wife's new Volvo uses Mann, seems unlikely they'd choose a low quality filter. When I ordered filters for my 951 a few years ago (not Pelican) I got Mahle oil and air filters and a Mann fuel filter.

Thanks Jerry.
I think you are right about the quality after I posted I did some digging and I read the same thing in many places. It turns out to be a little cheaper through Pelican so I ordered the Mahle filters. I will just return the Mann filters. Rob. |
