Converting to new stile alternator Help!
I put a new stile alternator with the built in voltage regulator in my 66 911. What do I do with the wiring?? It does not charge untill I touch the fild wire to a positive wire, Then when you shut it off and restart you have to do the same thing over agen. If I hook up a hot wire the battery goes dead if I hook up a ignition switch wire the car will not shut off when you turn the key. I have tred every wire combanation I can with the wires that are there and cant get it to work. other than starting the car and going back every time and touching the wire to start the charging

Did you add the resistor across the alternator light terminals on the oil gauge? Jim |
Red, Blue, and brown/braided wires are only three needed. Fold back and tape off the black wire -- no longer used!
