911 SC colour information

Hi All,

I posted this in another thread and it was suggested I re-post it here .....

I am the proud owner of a Bamboo Beige ROW 1981 911sc in Australia .....

This colour was only available in 1981 / 1982 .

My car is one of only 2 Bamboo cars ever delivered in Australia across both coupe and targa. As the numbers were so small in Aust, and the production run was only 2 years, it leads me to believe that this colour was not produced in large numbers.

Are there any numbers available on how many cars were produced in any given colour.

When I do a search on google for a Bamboo Beige 911, there are not very many results.

Does anyone on here know if this was a rare colour in the USA or worldwide?

Unfortunately, sometime in the last 30 years, my car has had a colour change and believe it or not, is now ........... Guards Red.

I know, I know .... what a travesty but please don't shoot the messenger. I didn't do it ....

I don't know what happened to the other Bamboo one that was delivered here, or even if it still exists, but maybe one day ......

Any help or information would be appreciated.

Regards, Ronny......

Unique color....I'd say it is pretty rare.
Must be perfect in Aussie land with the dust, would be good in Az for the same reason.

Wow I love that color. I think my SC color is kinda rare also. I have chiffon. It's a lighter shade of you car.

Chiffon is more of a creamy off-white. I'm OK with chiffon, but from the comments I get about it, it is a very popular color for 911's, even though it's not all that common.

I just bought a 77 911S that was Bamboo Beige L523 from the factory. The OP mentioned that the color was only available in 81-82. Could this have been a special order?

Thanks
