Latest addition 1977 2.7S

Hi everyone,
Not been on this forum for absolutely ages (child rearing got in the way for a bit) but now got a bit more free time to return. May I present you with the latest addition to the family. It's a 1977 2.7S. A few details to interest/bore you with. Spent it's entire life in the US. One owner from new (a classic car collector now retired). Bought it here in Germany from a collector. It's got bills and history from 1978 onwards and has had all the upgrades. 11 blade fan, pop off valve , chain tensioners etc. Slightly lowered suspension by Ruff and one top coat over the original paint work. Also working AC. Seats been covered their entire life so are pretty much mint condition. New tires, headlights and front screen. Bad side is the hot sun has cracked the dashboard and puffed up the sun visors. Got the factory fitted EGR system and still has original exhaust system. Also got the larger US rear bumperettes fitted. No tool kit or compressor. Passenger side window doesn't operate. Other than that runs a treat and looks great.

Hey Mingmong,

Lovely looking car and an excellent choice and one that mirrors my own 77S. Was a U.S. car that I bought in the UK, now in Germany and has just been given it's historic plates.

I have had mine since May and so far it's been fantastic. Solid, reliable, fast and an addictive engine scream! Loves to be revved.

Where are you in Germany?
Enjoy your new toy.

Thanks for your kind replies. Jase77 I'm up north near Hamburg, lovely colour btw. With regards to the German H plates do you know what papers you need to attain them? I got this car home by getting the 5 day plates but wouldn't mind getting the H plates in the summer. I've got a valid TUF for another year or so and certificate of ownership etc. Thanks in advance -Mark

Here they both are parked up in the garage. Got about 1cm spare between them which is just enough to fit. Orange one is from the same year but a Carrera 3.0.

Hi Mark,

That's a very accurate fit in your garage! :-)

I needed the Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche, which would give the build details and specifications of your car, along with the date of first registration etc. My COA didn't have the date of first registration on it and this caused some delays. The TUV eventually used July 1st 1977 as the date for this.
I also needed an insurance valuation for the classic/historik car register, and that was pretty much it.

Most important of all is to get a good TUV centre/person. I would ask for recommendations from friends or colleagues as this would really help.

Good luck and keep me posted.
Jason.
