Junkyard scrawl
Does anyone know a source for the pens dismantlers use to label parts? Their ink is usually yellow or white, if memory serves.
Since I'm switching out my brake pads for track events, I've been trying to keep their placement consistent. Marking them with a Sharpie doesn't work; the heat dissolves the ink. My thinking was that the 'junkyard' pen thing might be more durable.

Keep the left pads in your left pocket, and the rights in your right.

Jack, If you don't need them to be special high-heat pens, I buy them at any art supply store, (Beverly Blvd. and Poinsettia near LaBrea has good selection), use them a lot for automotive stuff. I've never had it burn off from heat on engine parts, but never used them on exhaust or brake pads.
