Great looking cars! I definitely prefer the look of no fogs. Planning to delete mine. No reason to keep them considering I plan to switch to an IROC front bumper in the near future.

Very nice! Love the color.

Do you think these fit in the 84-89 valance?

I'd love to have a set of these instead of the factory fogs.

I find the front end of impact bumper 911s to be esthetically very busy. I much prefer the cleaner look sans fog lights. I plan to eventually buy the club sport, fog-free valance.

In the meantime, I cobbled together some bolt in covers to replace the fogs. They are currently painted with a not quite matching Ace Hardware Red. A can of true Guards Red is on its way and should help make them disappear.

As you can clearly see...I need to perfect my welding skills. :)

Malaga, Very nice work!

In the ‘60’s when I was a child my dream car was a 911. Cool cars to me then had dual carbs, bucket seats, four wheel discs, 5 speed, independent rear suspension, and fog lights. The 911 had all of these things, most cars did not. It was so advanced at the time. So many years later i have the car with all of the features. It makes me happy. The fog lights are useless but I’ll be damned if I remove them.

Reviving an old thread!

Love the cleaner look so tore into the fogs today on my ‘82.

I read a bunch of old threads and I couldn’t find any mentions of what to do with the wires. I certainly do not want to cut them. Any elegant ideas of what to do with the wires?

I wonder if there is a separate connection in the front trunk that you could undo the wires from and store in a zip lock w/ the removed lights for later.

I removed my fog lights recently from my 86' and found the two connections in the front to the wiring harness. Different set up than yours but might be something to consider/investigate.

Others I am sure will chime in...

The great news about our beloved 911s is they are just cars. Do whatever modification to them you please, to make them your dream car. Just remember, every modification makes them more to your taste, and that can affect the resale value.

Personally I like my fog lights, and I have used them in multiple drives, admittedly not often, but they have helped me to see and be seen in a few occasion. On foggy days or heavy rain, I will indeed turn them on to help oncoming traffic see me. And on foggy mornings, or very dark rural neighborhoods they help light up the sides of the roads to see turns and wildlife like deer or dogs.

I recently did this and unfortunately no, they're a part of the loom with the rest of the lights. I guess you could pull the wires out from the loom going back to the fuse box, but blech to that.

Edit: As for what I did, just used plastic plugs in the holes, considering the location you hardly notice them.

Thanks! This is the info I needed. I will pull the wires back up by the fuse box and loop them up out of the way.

For what it's worth. I removed the fogs on my 83 SC, and there were some connectors in the front trunk (clear), that allowed me to remove the wires that run down to the fogs themselves.

Looks much nicer without the fogs!

I wasn't particularly enamored with the SC OEM fog light setup. I found a RUF front valence many years ago, bought some Carrera amber fogs, and came up with this. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1691424085.jpg

+1 with above. They look great compared to your picture without them.
Additionally, there's no weight gain with removal (only possible electrical issues that follow)

Keep them.........car looks great!

Not a G-Body car - but I also deleted my useless fogs recently, for a cleaner look

Reviving an old thread and changing my opinion-see post 113. Received a no-fog front valance in poor condition for free from a friend of mine. Stripped it, taught myself to do some body work with hammers and dollies, and just used Bondo for the first time yesterday. Sprayed the backside with rubberized undercoating. Going to use SEM Heavy Texture Chip Guard and then spray with GP White in my friends homebrew paint booth. Learned quite a lot and had fun over the past 18 months messing with this valance. Looking forward to the no fog look on my '87 targa.
