Injectors

Hi, I’m about to replace several injectors o rings after discovering a vacum leak. I’m thinking about cleaning the injectors while they are out. How do you guys clean them or should I have them professionally cleaned? Thanks dave

Yup, several services that clean and flow-test them. I used InjectorRX in Houston; they were a little cheaper ($108 plus shipping) and gave me a very nice report.

I used Dr. Injector. They did nice work. Had to replace one because of a non-repairable leak. It was a little tough finding a new one at a reasonable price (Dr. Injector did not cary the right one).

What kind of injectors do you have? I don't think that Mr. Injector will clean/refurbish the CIS type injectors, or at least they didn't last time I looked.

Dave,

I sent my injectors to Mr. Injector (Bill Johnson) in Dalton Gardens Idaho. They give directions on how to pack, wrap and seal the injectors in zip-top bags for shipping to them.

Bill did a great job on my injecotrs - ultrasonic cleaned, tested for flowrate and spray pattern, oiled and painted for $17.50/ea. Report provided upon return showing performance before and after service for each injector.

Quick turnaround as well. I was very happy.

Can’t recommend Mr. Injector enough.

Happy to help. I find this forum priceless in so many ways, getting solid recommendations prior to pulling the trigger on a purchase/service is just one of them. One other item I forgot to mention, which should be obvious, is Bill also replaces all of the ‘wear parts’ O-rings, etc. as part of the service.

Be sure to post your experience once you get them back.

By the way, I was able to dig out some pics of my injectors, before and after servicing.

Good luck!

Ive sent about 200 injectors to Mr Injector. Happy every time. He replaces all the needed seals and screens and flow tests before and after. Makes them look like new.

Injectors

Just got off the phone with Mr Injector, he does do CIS injectors As noted. He did say he does not do the CIS that injects directly into the cylinders
, but if the injectors mount into the intake manifold he does them. Hope this clears up any misunderstanding. Dave
