Lowering a '71 T
I plan on lowering (slightly) my '71 but really don't want to "trial and error" it. I had a kit car as younger man and I had the math worked out for lowering the rear of the VW...so many inner splines to outer splines translated into how many mm at the wheel center. I know that a "twist" on the 911 equals 5/6 of a degree but what does that translate to in terms of distance at the wheel center? I guess I am getting lazy in my old age...I don't want to do the math, has anyone done it already and willing to share? Thanks!

Its only the rear bars that needs head scratching and there are plenty of posts on this. It is great fun as the inner and outer splines are different so you can go 2 clockwise and one anti clockwise to achieve greater granularity. It will never work out per your calculations because you are bound to lose your starting position when disassembling. Measuring the angle of the top of the spring plate is my preferred method followed by trial an error.

About 5/16" per degree by my calculations. Your results may vary due to different ride heights (the marginal ride height per degree changes with ride height).
