Seat belt warning system delete
I would like to properly delete the seatbelt warning light and starter lock out on my '74.
I currently have a jumper lead shorting the starer circuit where the warning light relay goes, but I'd like to properly bridge the relay socket, and remove power to any of the other warning circuits. Without the jumper in place, the starter will not engage. The closest thread I've found is this one: Solved! Door switch and ignition buzzer relay The closest wiring diagram I've found is for a '73, which does not detail this system of circuits. Does anyone have a detail diagram, or performed a similar de-activation? I don't imagine ever wanting to re-activate it, but for the sake of originality I'd like to leave the actual wiring in, just de-activate it. Thanks! -C

I've got a 74 and even though I don't recall all the particulars tracing wires and such.
this is what worked for me. Behind the gas/oil gauge is the seatbelt interlock relay ![]() forward and towards the passenger side about 8" are the connections for the relay ![]() I reversed these connections essentially bypassing the relay. No buzzer, no light, no lock. Its been working this way for 3 years no troubles. I had to disconnect the air blower stuff that is in the way to get to it. Paul |

That's the one. On my car the relay is missing (previous owner) on account of an alarm install.
On a second though, I suppose one could wire in a discreet starter cut off switch for anti-theft purposes.... Many thanks.
