Cool Slant nose oil cooler

I have an 1989 Conversion slantnose and just noticed that I do not have the oil cooler. I was told that it needs to be installed under the front spoiler due to the slant nose. Can anyone tell me the part # and maybe a photo of what it looks like completely installed in the original model? How difficult would it be to install yourself? Here's a picture of my car.

Old school "slope"... Love the look of your car.

I'm not sure about the OEM cooler for your car but you could easily get an after market version to fit.

MOCAL Make a full line of oil cooler kits for the 911... I have a PDF file I could send you but I can't post it.

Didn't factory slant noses for the US run an oil cooler in the rear fender vent?

Regards,

My 83 slantnose conversion has the same looking oil cooler pictured above in the passenger side rear fender vent. The cooler lines run over the rear tire and connect to a maniford.

87-89 930S M505 US cars had the rear fender cooler. I believe most of the factory slants before that and the M506's used the front cooler shown above.

I just assumed you were looking for the valance mount version used on RoW M506(that's what I would want)

Here's the US M505 version

Also, our host or Elephant Racing would help you with options/details. I did it myself as a weekend project. And the oil temps dropped 30* at the track.

hi, i also have a turbolook slope cab. i would love to chat and compare notes with others with similar cars, as i cant find much info on mine.

my car has a euro style Porsche oil cooler mounted in the front nose. all the lines and fittings have Porsche part numbers on them as well.

i need to get it in the air to get a better pic, but this is the best i can do for now .

Hi I also have a slantnose with no front oil cooler. The car started life as a 1969, it now has a 3.2 in it. The only resemblance of a cooler is the one on the rear passenger side. Since I have no cooler my oil pressure is close to 100 pounds! It would probably be lower if a cooler was in place.

A cooler will cool the oil which would tend to raise oil pressure. The cooler isn't in the pressure circuit so it doesn't directly effect the flow into the engine.

In the 80s we commonly used the cooler from an RX7 to add a center front cooler to a 911. They were cheap, reasonably good quality, and easy to find in junk yards.
