Trailer Turn Signal Indicator Light-'86 911- Really??

Here is the relevant electrical electrical diagram for my '86. It shows a blue/white stripe wire coming of the flasher base for the trailer turn signal flasher.

I thought it was a misprint but I happened to find this wire loose in my harness today. What is it really for?

Probably a poor translation of 'leading' (front) and trailing (rear) turn signals.

It's for the trailer lights.
The part number for the factory trailer hitch for a 3.2 carrera is 911 722 031 02...

dveeres,
Thanks. Interesting. Suffice it to say that I don't pretend to understand how this blue/white wire will run the trailer lights. It doesn't really matter now that I know what its for (and not a misprint on the electrical diagram) as I'm in the middle of installing '86 wiring into my RST build.
Cheers,
Johan

There is another thread running at the moment and it seems that Porsche offered a tow bar as a factory option.
