Broken air box strap tab :( - how to fix?
I was replacing my worn out air box straps (stock 76 911S) and the left tab on the bottom of the airbox broke off. Dammit.
I did a search and didn't find anything conclusive about repairs. Has anyone been successful in repairing it? And if so, how? thx |
i made a little metal tab and a few little screws hold it on good as new

Hi 930dude -
I'm liking the sound of that! Would you mind posting a picture or 2? thanks |
Man its freezing out there! Here it is. Just one screw in there. Looks like I put it just to the side of the old one to avoid the ribbs. Its just a simple piece of sheet metal its been fine since I got the car in 2006

That's a great solution! Thanks for braving the cold for me - yeah it's freezing in my Ohio garage also. And more snow on the way tomorrow....

Hey 930dude -
One more question for you. Did you do this with the airbox attached to the motor? It looks like there is enough room.... thanks |
Yup it was not a problem there is enough room

I've moved to using a single bungee. Has lasted longer than any of the straps I have purchased, and only one disconnect instead of two.

Walt -
Can you post a pic of your set up? Thx |
If the snow allows moving the trailer home today, I'll take a picture. It isn't pretty, but it has worked.
