I have been looking for a 993 recently, and have found one locally here in Baton Rouge. A doctor owns it, a '97 Coupe, Artic Silver with black leather, 27K miles, all records, he wants $52K for it, but says he is a "motivated seller", probably meaning he will come down on the price. I plan to take it to my local mechanic for a PPI tomorrow. Any other thoughts from my fellow p-car fanatics?
Oh, this will be my daily driver. ------------------ Mark Howard '88 Carrera '62 356/B '75 914 1.8 resto |

I prefer the 87-89 variety, but, if it makes you happy and it is a good machine, it can't be that bad! Have fun while you are healthy Mon!

Well, the wife has told me she ain't giving up her garage space, so one of the p-cars has to go if I get the 993. The 914 is soooo close to being finished and I really want to drive it this winter. The 356/B is 95% restored and has just been sitting for the long, HOT, summer. So, the 356 will probably go, but I have an offer from a local on the 914 so, who knows?????

geez, some people have some serious problems in this country.
I mean if I couldnt decide which POrsche to keep, which one to sell, which one to rebuild, which one had to see a hot summer, which one I was going to drive in the winter, man! I would go out of my mind. the pressure and stress is just too much... heh heh thank you |

I would think the 88 would be the logical sacrifice. Why have two 911s that are so similar?
Great choice in the 97, by the way. Beautiful, beautiful car. ------------------ Jack Olsen My Rennlist page • My Pelican Gallery page • My Porsche Owners Gallery page [This message has been edited by JackOlsen (edited 09-24-2001).] |

It's not a toy, cabman, It's my primary mode of transportation! Remember what Dr. Porsche said, not just from A to B you know. BTW: the 914 was free, the 356 was almost free and, Jack, the '88 is sooooo nice and it's hard to part with your first porsche

Sell the 914 for sure. It is not the most desirable year or model ('75-1.8) of 914. So sell it and when you get a bigger garage, replace it with a 914/6. Problem solved!
