996 GT3 seats

curious if anyone has first hand experience with 996 GT3 seats (knock-offs in this case, not actual recaros). I found a pair for sale made my ROTtec, (https://rotteccarbon.com/) they are carbon fiber with alcantera upholstery. They would be going into my '74 930 look car.

Thoughts?

Experience with the knock-offs? None. But I drove 15hrs straight (with a couple stops for fuel) in real 996 GT3 seats and couldn't believe how comfortable they were.

I'm 5'11", about 240lbs, a bit worried that I'm too big for the seat. Anyone have first hand experience with these?

Are the knock-offs the same size as the originals? I'm 5'10" and ~180#s, and the originals are pretty snug.

I know the original can be ordered in different sizes.
I bought a set replica GT3 seats, but sold them because they were to tight in the upper back.

Tagging thread. Bergo I'm too about your size and trying to find seats for my 82SC project has been an almost year long nightmare. I'm just all over the place from Vintage R seats to early 80's sport seats. Even Recaro/Sparco/Racetec seats or 996/997/GT3 seats. Between trying to find the right look and fit it's still an on going venture.

Bergo,

For better or worse. Rottec is well known on the water cooled 911 forums. Take a look at this link:

Review of Rottec CGT seats. - 6speedonline.com Forums

Hope this helps.

That's promising, thanks! I might have to jog a bit to fit, haha!

Sounds like you'd certainly be more healthy jogging than sitting in these seats. Yikes.

No experience with the replicas, but had a 996 GT3 for 4yrs with the genuine Recarros. 6'0", 165lbs (well, I was then!)...never ever had a moments discomfort and it was my daily driver. Drove from Calais to Montreux in Switzerland with only a couple of brief stops for fuel and coffee, no aches at all, could've done the same journey again.

Bu have got a chunky monkey (fat) mate who couldn't get on with them when he had his GT3, felt as though his shoulders were being pushed forward
