Is there a difference in BBS E50 centers?

Someone asked if my wheels were thick or thin centers, Is there a difference?

Yes. Some e50 are thicker than others.

Floridabmx,

Do you know if certain ones are preferred to, over others? Does it have anything to do with the type of lugs used?

Thanks

No, i wouldn't say ones more desirable over the other. I would value the thinner versions more so if anything as they are more rare and look absolutely beautiful when facemounted on a wheel with a smaller lip. From my experience I believe the thicker ones are more commonly used on wheels with larger lips. (Especially on 15" flatband halves) to offset the weight applied. But I also believe the thinner ones may be an earlier model as well. Maybe BBS changed to the more thick version because of the thinner ones being more prone to cracks? but I am unsure. I've only had thinner centers once in my life and they didn't come with halves. I know there's thicker and thinner e52 as well. As well as ronal racing castings.
