Early 930 whale tail real or not?
Need some help to work out if this tail is genuine or aftermarket.

I don't think so. Look at the detail around the latch. The frame appears to be fiberglass.

If there is no branding or part number, then it may be a knockoff but a very nice one at that, a Carrera Turbo Tail very rare

Crossbar & latch area
I agree, the crossbar doesn't look right around the latch area. But it looks like I may have had a repair and fibreglass built up around it and then undercoated.
It also looks like the crossbar may be in two pieces as it seem to be coming apart in the middle. |

Finally got my hands on this wing.
I will post more detailed pics when I get a chance, it appears to be all FG and no sign of any numbers in the usual spots. One thing I have noticed is a green colour appearing under the white paint. Is this normal for FG or was this wing painted in this unusual green colour at some stage and maybe used on a "special" car in the past? ![]() |
