Question Audi question .... a bit off topic

A friend of mine has a 1991 Audi 200 Turbo. He says that his car stalls sometimes as he is slowing down. It happens typically when the car is warm after being driven for a while. After stalling, it starts right back up again with no problem. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Green

I had one of those way back when.. They use DME ala 84 up 911, the idle stabilizer can become gummed up causing erratic idle.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Seeing as though I'm not getting many other responses, can anyone tell me of another BBS that would have Audi folks who could help?

I have found the above BB useful re my A6.
Your friend might try some injector cleaner (BG44K) and change the air filter. I had a roughness problem a while ago and have to have the injectors cleaned, new spark plugs and new O2 sensor (all under Audi 5 year warranty!).

The first culprit to check is the Turbo Bypass Valve, $40-50 plus the control hose that goes to the back of the intake manifold.

After that have him join the rest of us proto-urS4 owners on the 200v20q list. Gobs of useful info that has probably saved me many kilobucks. There is a large community of S4/S6 people that includes the '91 200 quattros and a lot of that data applies to the FWD 200s.

I forgot to mention, he can download and search the email archive when he goes to the above address.
