Bosch CIS Help
I have a 1980 sc and the CIS is toast. I have a 1981 CIS to replace it.Am I going to run into problems with the addition of the temp switch and additional throttle position switch? Do I have to have these hooked up to run properly on my 1980 motor??

Is the temp switch you're referring to the 15°C switch? If so, the ECU uses that as part of the cold start enrichment equation. You might be able to just ground it. I'd have to go back and look up the behavior.
Not sure on the TPS I know there are some differences in K-Jetronic from year to year -- some are more significant than others -- but I can't remember what they were. Have you looked at Jim Williams' CIS website yet? Edit: This should help with some of the differences. Check out the bottom of the page. Does your '80 have a spot in the case for the 15°C switch? It's usually right under where the A/C compressor mounts about the tensioner housing. Also the PIN outs on the wiring harness appears to be different. Dennis (timmy2) might be able to help you there. 911 CIS Primer - CIS Lambda Last edited by tirwin; 02-23-2015 at 04:23 PM.. |
