Can this be Removed?
Hello guys I need to removed this cap to check the bolts on the fork, can this be removed with the transmission in the car? and if so do I need to put the transmission in gear or in neutral? any other recommendations to do this job

Yes, it can be removed in the car. It has a gasket that will probably be destroyed. You can either get another or make one like I did. You can get gasket material at most auto part stores.
You will lose most of the trans fluid so you should loosen the fill plug BEFORE you start the job. I put the shifter in neutral when I did it. My forks were loose so I reinstalled nuts with a dab of locktite when I reinstalled.

It is better to replace with good used than try to epoxy the stud in place as the repair could fail from bad threads and you're back where you started from.

It is not hard, but can be confusing the first time you take the port door off. A good diagram of how the 915 shifter works could be helpful in putting everything back together correctly.
You can get a new seal cheaply here on PP. Hopefully you won't find any little metal bits inside!

I just helped a friend with this same issue... I put some loctite 574 between the shift fork and the cover plate to help keep it in place, then used lock nuts and loctite threadlock on the studs. Hopefully that's enough to prevent it from moving.
