Stray RF Signals
I have a ’74 Targa with a ’81 3.0 motor. The motor was just rebuilt. The CIS was removed and replaced with PMOs. I took it to a dyno and they couldn't get their electrics to work due to “stray RF signals”. I completely disconnected the ECU that was under the front seat to no avail. The motor runs great, no miss. A standard timing light works perfect, but a Snap-On digital is sporadic. Any ideas where those “stray RF signals” are coming from?
Thanks, JT |

CDI is the likely culprit.

Anything I can do about it other than switching to a MSD? I have the stock Bosch.

Snapon digital timing lights jump all over the place normally. Bought one and used it once and returned it.
Analog rocks.
