Leaving this community, well, not totally
Hi guys.
I came to a point where I decided to sell my beloved '85 Carrera to get a more practical-wife-and-kids-friendly-ac-working recent car. I guess I'm leaving this community here who helped me a lot when I had question about my 911. I want to thank you guys, it was fun to exchange and learn from experienced enthusiasts like you. BUT, the apple never falls too far from the tree : I found a 2001 996 twin turbo in a truly amazing condition. I should get the car next week, can't wait, I'm like a kid before Christmas, you know that feeling... Buying an 'old' 911 was a great achievement for me : I like these car since I'm 10 and the 3.2 Carrera was certainly the generation that got me into the Porsche-mania. I will be back for sure, probably when the market switches back to a more buyer friendly market, ... if it ever does. ![]() Recently, the market, as everyone knows, got a little crazy and I tried to do a smart move money wise. Of course, if I could run two 911s, I would not have sold my targa, but I had to take the hard decision to let it go. It sold pretty fast... Good thing is : the buyer is a private owner who has a little car collection. I certainly didn't what to sell it to a reseller/speculator. Thanks again, and let's hope I'm back here soon or later. A nice '89 M491 coupe would do just fine. ![]() In the meantime, I'll be driving this 996 tt, what a wicked machine !

Congrats to you! I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of these stories if the market keeps going up.

Nothing says "kid friendly" like a twin-turbo 911.

In today's market, I think 996 tt (and 993 as well) are the best bang for the buck.
