cam timing for 73 911e mfi

just a quick question. im doing cam timing on my 73 911e motor, with stock cams. is it the same way to check the cam timing as with later cars like the 3.0 and 3.2? I have all the tools to do it. z block dial indicator etc.

yes, the overlap timing spec for a '72 E is 2.7-3.1mm w/ 2.9mm the target
