How much cursing is involved removing window regulator

Any suggestions when removing and replacing window regulator

Significant cursing......

I replaced the window motor on my passenger side last summer. Had to completely loosen the regulator to get the motor off but left the regulator in the door the whole time. I remember thinking to myself..... "sure am glad I'm not replacing the regulator too!!".

It's really not rocket science and no worse than most other cars. Wear gloves unless you enjoy bloody knuckles. I want to say there is a certain position the window needs to be in to make it easier. You'll just need to play with it and pay attention to how it all mounts before you wrangle it out of there. I'd also remove the glass completely or at least tape it up in the closed position to keep out of the way.

I had no real issues with it. Just remember to secure the glass to the top of the window frame before you attempt to pull it. Also, nothing needs to be forced when removing it. If you are trying to do that your approach is wrong.

Nice opportunity to use some Wurth HHS-K on the mechanicals of the door while it is out.

Window Regulator, 87

I just removed both of mine and got them back in finally, yes it is a pain. I took this short video of the orientation on my phone to remind me of the position of the parts as they came out. Helped a little but still a struggle.

I have a targa so there's no taping the window in the up position should I just remove it?

Hope this helps.

I used a spring clamp on the glass to hold it in position. The regulator will pass thru the opening easily once you find the right position and path. Extreme patience required.

I pinched my glass with a pair of quick grips with the protective rubber pads. I put one pair at an angle over the fixed vent window and the other I basically let rest on top of the door. It worked for me.

I don't have the answer; I don't even suspect. However, this is the second time this week I've run across a new phrase/word to add to my personal lexicon. The first was "buttholeryness", which I believe to be self-descriptive, and the second is "How much cursing is involved with . . .?" I'm going to use both.
