Distributor exchange
Not sure if this has been covered here but. I have a 70 2.2 T with a Marelli and I would like to exchange it for a Bosch from a 2.7 as I have it, will it work or is there a better choice. Thanks

It can be made to fit. The shaft is fatter, so it must be disassembled and machined to marelli dimensions and a new o-ring groove cut. The hold-down bracket is cut off in the process. The vacuum retard unit is not used. It just holds the breaker plate still.

Good to here from you John it's been a while for me. I had you in mind if I take this back to a semi sane long hood. I have a twin turbo long block just waiting for a home but this car has very little rust and all the parts it started life with per the COA. What could you do with the factory 2.2 and trans to breath a bit of fire into it. Oh yeh in the mean time are you suggesting make mods add pertronics to the 2.7 distributer or just clean this one up and add some pertronics. Thanks for your response.
