Help on paint color. Before this Friday

I'm getting my 914 painted on Friday. It's going to be Arena Red, but I need to know the years Arena Red was used and on what models. Paint guy says thats the easiest way for him to get the correct color. Can anybody help??

The Red Book says it was first available with the 1997 model year 993, and carried on through to the new 996 models. Although, I always thought it came out in `96, along with the new 993TT (?). It was also available on the Boxster, but I don't have any info for that model. Anyhow, the book also has the factory paint code listed as "H8" if that helps at all.

A quick look through the Red Book shows Arena Red Metallic appearing as a special order color beginning with the 993 1996 model year, paint code H8. found also for the 1997 1993 and the 1998-1999 996s.

Eric-
you beat me to it.

my Red Book shows it on page 128 as a special order color for cars produced from August 1995 to July 1996.

hope this helps.

Steve-

You beat me to the post edit so we're even!

FSR-

Yep, Steve caught my mistake, started in `96. I knew `97 didn't sound right!

Ok now I have a different problem. I was checking the paints and 96 and 97 are two different colors.
I used this site.

This is the color I want.

I'm assuming it is from the 97 and not the 96. Any opinions.
