Two questions, 1 post.
Pelicans,
It's a cold and wet miserable Sunday here in Germany so I thought I would start to address a couple of the 'niggles' on the long to do list. 1) Any of you guys have this, and if so how would you fix it? (Not at all serious but annoying) ![]() ![]() That's the rubber gaitor for the handbrake lever and it keeps popping out from the carpet! ![]() 2) I noticed that the adjusting bolt on the front torsion bars are in a slightly different position from left to right side. Shouldn't these be the same? LHS ![]() RHS ![]() I've taken some quick basic measurements both sides and they are in tolerance but not exactly the same. Any suggestions would be great........as I am really bored today!

#2 Don't touch the adjusting bolts! They are adjusted to make the height and load of each corner of the car even. Do some searches on corner balance to get a better idea of how it works but if the corner balance is correct any change you make will definitely be wrong.

Thanks for your reply. The car drives well, doesn't sway (too much) and brakes in a straight line too so I have no intention of getting a spanner out. I spotted it by accident and just thought it may be wise to reference the manual (Pelican) on this one. Later this year I want to replace all of the old bushings and give it a complete suspension over haul so until then I'll leave well alone.

As for the brake boot I would love to hear a solution. Drives me nuts.

For the shift boot you could put self-adhesive Velcro stops. Place One on the tunnel and the other to the bottom of boot.

Jason,
No solution to your e-brake boot issue but I notice that your heater knobs need a refresh. A simple dip into boiling red clothes dye can have them looking new again. Knob Job If you have trouble finding the dye in Cologne I'd be happy to bring over a package when I visit in late April. Thor

I just read that thread and I'm impressed with that one. They look great and you are right that mine look almost transparent! If I cannot find anything similar I would be very grateful to take you up on your kind offer. Rsbob, Nice suggestion and I'll definitely give it a shot. I'll probably paint the handbrake lever whilst I am at it too.

if the car is off the ground you have a strut that is stuck.
