Does your turn signal switch stalk feel pretty solid? Also check to make sure that the fuses are in tact and not corroded. When checking the fuses also make sure that the wires coming out of the bottom and top of the fuse blocks are tightly held in place by the screws at the top and bottom of the fuse block.

The brake circuit has nothing to do with the running light circuit except for the grounds. They are independently powered through different fuses. The circuits share common ground points at each of the light assemblies. Check your grounds please.
The brake switches are in parallel, so that it just take one to close to make the brake lights go on. If you are checking fuses, then the brakes are FUSE BLOCK 1 Fuse 4 in the trunk. It should be an 8 Amp fuse with a small GREEN/BLUE wire out the bottom. Beware that it is a little confusing - looking left to right on the main fuse block assembly, the first three fuses are FUSE BLOCK 3, the next series of 10 fuses are FUSE BLOCK 1 and the final 8 are FUSE BLOCK 2. So this fuse is really the 7th from the left. The running lights are powered through FUSE BLOCK 2 Fuses 5 and 6. These would be BLACK/GRAY and GRAY/BLACK small gauge at the bottom of Fuse 5 for the left side. BLACK/RED and GRAY/RED small gauge should be found at the bottom of fuse 6 for the right side. These should be the 3rd and 4th fuses from the right - both are 5 Amp. Last edited by SpyderMike; 03-31-2015 at 12:58 PM.. |
