1985 - Terastat Ribbon? - Ribbon under Window Trim Molding
Anyone know the tape/ribbon that was used under the window trim on the doors and the targa window trim around the rear window. The tape ribbon is applied onto the body panels below the trim with holes for clips. The existing tape is being removed for paint and I want to replace it. Someone mentioned maybe Terastat Ribbon.
Thanks. |

you are correct, I used terastat ribbon to apply it under the rear window moulding.
stuff comes in a roll, there is enough for more than 4 cars with it I think.

Terostat ribbon caulk was used between the rear window anodized trim and the body and between the anodized trim and the window seal. Essentially the rear metal trim around the targa window was sandwiched in two strips of ribbon sealant.
On the anodized trim for the side windows, a plastic tape that looks a lot like black vinyl electrical tape with the exception that it is not as elastic was used between the trim and the metal door. At least this is the way it was set up on my '89 Todd
