fan/ altenator belt '81 sc

everyone,
I know this has been covered many times but I have a question regarding changing the fan belt. On the '81 it is behind the AC belt. I loosened the compressor and removed that belt. But I can not loosen the 24mm nut on the fan pulley. Any suggestions?

You have a handle with a pin on the end of a semi circle in the tool pouch. That holds the pulley half, now the 24mm will loosen it.

Get a breaker bar on it with the proper pulley tool.

PO obviously over torqued it. 36ft lbs is all it needs

I seem to remember the spec on the fan pulley nut to be 29 Ft. lbs. but all bets are off when somebody before you used an impact tool.

And... After you have successfully adjusted it with all the washers, you need to adjust it all again a week later when the new belt has worn in.
