Seat Rail Bolts and Washers P/N?

I'm taking my passenger seat off, and while I'm at it I'd like to replace the bolts that are starting to round out so that I don't run into a future problem. The PET shows the bolts and washers (of which my seat doesn't have any), but it doesn't list any part numbers.

I've searched for different terms on our host, too, and am unable to find them in the parts catalog.

Can anyone help?

Matt

I looked in the 84-86 PET.

It says M6x16 Hex Head Bolt
Part number 900 075 057 02

Not sure if they are the same, if you want to take a chance for $2.50

Your local hardware store should have them, take one of the old ones with you. My seats had conventional nuts on them I had to spread the channel and modify a socket to get a wrench on them it was a real pain.

A bit more progress here. My bolts are M8x1.25, and about 35mm long. The hardware store didn't have those, so I went with 40mm length and picked up some M8 lock washers.

I haven't installed any of them yet, however, so I'm not sure if the taller head will interfere with the seat adjustment or not yet.

Either way, mine are totally different than those of the '84-'86 model years...

For the earlier seats (I know my 80, and apparently through 86 at least) the bolts are M6x1 16mm. I picked up a bag of black low profile socket heads from McMaster Carr, #93070A145, McMaster-Carr

Once I went to the aftermarket Recaros, I couldn't fit a 10mm socket in there anymore. The low profile socket head bolt allows me to use a slightly cut down allen head wrench which makes the job 1000x easier.

The exact same bolts (low profile but in factory yellow zinc) are all over inside the doors, I think there was 6 or so in each door holding various things.

'87 bolts are indeed M8 and the low profile head is definitely the hot setup for wrenching access. I have used those same type of bolts that Pazuzu/Mike referenced from McMaster, in M8 size. They work great.

By the way you gotta be careful when looking in the PET for seat information. Reason being is because the seats changed between '84 and '85. There are SO many PET pages for seats in the '86 PET its ridiculous.

Up to '84 the bolts that secure the seat to the floor pan are M6 bolts and '85 up use M8.
