inner or outer?
The two hoses that run to the MFI pump which one is the inner one and which one is the outer? I need the one that runs from the left side of the engine by the #2 spark plug up to the pump. which one is that?

I believe you are refering to the heat tube.
It starts from the heat exchanger as a high heat tube (spiral braced/heavy material)..then has a metal pipe (connector)...then changes to a light weight air tranfer tube (spiral braced/light weight)...to the left side of the thermostat on the MFI pump. Hope this helps. Bob

I already explained to you that the two separate hoses go together to make one hot air hose assembly to be secured with a worm-gear clamp at each end ... that goes from the sheet metal elbow to the thermostat assembly!
The heavy, reinforced rubber hose is outside the engine compartment, and hasn't very likely been damaged by mice with 6-ply fabric reinforcement and a 1/4" wall thickness!!!

Warren, easy big fella, Tim is new to MFI, and I remember being just as afraid of screwing something (big$$$) up with a bonehead move. Still am, for that matter. So, I just ask silly questions until answers percolate through bone.
By the way Tim, did you pull the engine/trans? Or decide to crank it first for diagnosis ? What's the latest?
