Do i need new synchroniser rings ? G50/00

Last year i bought a g50/00. I have taken it apart to shorten the bellhousing , and i'm about to put it back together. I'm thinking of buying new bearings and synchroniser rings, but i'm not sure if i need to. Is there any good way to measure/see if the rings and bearings are worn out ?

You need to install the synchro onto the cone of the gear and measure the gap with a feeler gauge. I would need to double check the spec but iirc minimum gap is .8mm.

does that mean minimum for what's ok to put back in or that they should be changed at 0.8. Mine were at about one 1 mm . do you know how big the gap is when they are new ?

1mm is pretty good. They aren't much more than that new.

If anyone knows what to look for to see if i need new bearings id be very happy to know :) and thank you Matt :)

good to know. I can see that the transmission has been opened before since the original gaskets have been replaced some orange sealant. So it might not need any rebuild.

G50 bearings are really robust.

How much power you are you pushing?

I'm around 650 according to TurboKraft with my combo, and have never had any issues.
