It's finally finished... well for now

We purchased this car in October of 2012, and what started as a car we thought needed a few simple repairs turned into a full restoration! It's been a real journey, from tracking down information about 80's euro cars, parts, engine disassembly and then reassembly, paint and body, to reassembly of the entire car. The car turned out very well, really better than originally anticipated. There were moments, sometimes weeks, where I felt certain I'd lost my mind and others where things came together so well that we deserved pats on the back(not often). Anyways, I started a thread in October of 2012 in off topic discussions about the car and the help here was great! I have been busy at work and the restoration has not been a full time occupation. Here are some pics of what she looks like now. Thanks for everyone's help, time to enjoy the car! Finally!

Thank you! They are Gotti JA55s. The car had BBS originally(I still have them, with original Pirelli tires), but these look better to me and I can fit those 345's in the rear!

Kind of hard to grasp the situation without a beginning, middle and all we get to see is the end.

Certainly not a car to everyone's liking (not exactly classic/stock - what Kremer is?), but it's your car, you like it, so enjoy it.

EDIT

I found another example of a Kremer 930
http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1981-porsche-935/
Quote:
The car is documented with a letter from Kremer, the original MSO, and correspondence from the original owner – all featured in the gallery below but with the original owners name erased to protect his identity. The seller states that German law forces manufacturers to destroy certain records after ten years, so the Kremer letter does not specify this car by chassis number.
I went to your "Garage" and saw the original nose. Why the change?

Looks to be thread on project:
Help!! Kremer 930 Slant Nose

Yes there's a turbo underneath there. From what I have gathered, there are about 150 or so 930 Targas, I would assume very few of them received this treatment from DP/Kremer as the total price would have exceeded $100K. The nose was a butchered aluminum 930 front bumper(The nose on it now is what would have been on it in Germany). In order for it to be federalized and go through customs, the fiberglass valance was removed. We refinished the stripes in the same colors as when it was originally done. The color choice was not my first, but it's a 1981, and brown and tan was "cool" then I guess.

The Kremer cars were always technically interesting. Tell us about the shifter. I haven't seen one like that.

That has to be one of the strangest looking 911s I have ever seen. Good job! It is such a relic from the eighties that you had to restore it. Is it fun to drive?

It has a fantastic exotic look - I bet it gets you into lots of great conversations at the gas pump.

Take that roof off and enjoy the incoming summer!

I love it!

Not long after high school a guy I knew bought an old targa and built a white car like that but with deep white fuchs and non vented RSR rear fenders. Same slant nose and 935 style air dam.

I loved it. I had no idea that an actual manufacturer made cars that looked like that.
It was the 80s, and compared to a testarosa, this thing was sex on wheels!

Glad you saved it from the "nouveau purists" who would surely have destroyed a piece of legitimate Porsche history.

That car is about as period correct as you can get. Love the wheels, I remember buying those wheels for my 72 Capri that had flares and stuffing 245's under them. They were not cheap. That was 83. Is that a tape deck and an equalizer? And I still can't wrap my head around the shifter and that knob to the right. I think I know what the knob is.
Do you still have a hovercraft?

Really interesting old school car. What's the knob attached to the shifter tower? I have a set of those Gottis I'm probably going to be selling soon. Are you running the Pirelli tires they make for the Countach on the back? What's on the front? Not many options for big 15's.

Am I the only one who looked at the first pic and thought it was the "before" picture of a slant nose re-conversion?

I guess I don't appreciate the significance of a Kremer.

It is certainly gonzo 80s styling, though.

Thanks everyone... the picture that Kach22i was the first picture that I posted of the car in October 2012. From what I gathered and researched, the 935 front bumper is correct for the car, and we brought it back exactly as it would have been in 1981 except for the DZUG shifter with boost controller(controller came in the car with the Kremer package), full fabspeed exhaust, and TurboKraft intercooler. The car is a ball to drive, its fast enough to cause serious injury, and the paint scheme attracts either positive of negative attention. Its love or hate, there's no middle ground as to whether you like it or not.

That's what I was hoping for.
