"Kick" in the shifter..What gives?
Need some opinions here with my shifter still "kicking", even after replacing
tranny and engine mounts. When driving and I let go of the gas pedal, I still feel the jerking of the shifter lever and it feels like something is loose and swaying back and forth. I double checked the mounts to make sure they were still tight and all is good. Opinions? Serge |

Inspect the gearbox and engine mount and confirm they're intact (not broken). Visually inspect running engine while on a lift.

Good idea Sherwood! Gotta check it out!
Is this common? |

The output shaft walking under load/no load can cause the shifter to move. This is usually due to a failing 4 point bearing or worn bearing retainer allowing movement.
Do you get any gear wine or change in pitch during load/unload? |
