Various questions trying to figure out what PO did
Pulled the air pump off and the heather blower so I could get a better look at all the hoses etc.. First thing is this blue connector disconnected on the back side of the air flow meter does anyone know what this does? Photo is through a mirror so I could see it, but the matching connector for it was laying down below. What should I expect to happen after reconnecting it?
![]() Next one is there are two random hoses not connected to anything, where do they go? One comes off the side of the air box (red circle) the other goes back to the right side of the engine compartment and connects to what looks like a charcoal canister? Were they connected at one time? ![]()

One more
There are also these wires that are bare and poorly spliced together, I'm guessing they are for the rear window heater, but can anyone confirm what they are for? They go up through the rear shelf on the drivers side by the hood hinge just above the fuel filter.

If it's factory the car may start.
This connector is integral to the fuel injection system. No connection, no running. Period. Yes, connect the hose for the charcoal canister. It hooks to the fat hose on the "front" side of the canister. There are two ports on that side. Little and big. Big is for that hose. Little is from the expansion tank in the driver's front fender.

Am pretty sure those wires are for rear window defogger. Get a Bentley manual and it will have wiring diagram for that with wire colors

The pic is back assward. Yes those are the defrost wires. Least of your worries right now.

Blue plug is the air plate sensor. If the car is in a rollover accident it is supposed to shut off the fuel pump. I had a mechanic once that claimed he fixed my CIS problems. What he did was unplug that connector. Unplugged, the fuel pump runs with the key in the ON position. The idea is that if you have a problem with low residual pressure, then unplugging the connector engages the fuel pump a second or two before you crank the ignition. It is a half-ass fix.
The line on the side of the airbox -- if memory serves that goes to vac line on the cruise module in the back left corner of the engine bay. As for the wires, I think that is two ground wires and a brake light wire (red/black?). I see a green/black too. If you can list the wire colors it would help. That hole needs a grommet to prevent wire chaffing.

Not freq valve. Air sensor. Very simple. Sensor lifts, makes or breaks a contact (hell, I don't remember) and allows the fuel pump relay to energize.

Isn't the FV green? That connection looks like it's going into the back of the pressure plate housing.

You guys are probably correct. Disregard my comment. And thanks I just learned something. 10 years ago I got a note from my shop that said the fuel pump rollover safety switch was disconnected (and they reconnected it). I always wondered what they were referring to. And at that time the car had a residual pressure problem due to the check valve in the fuel pump.
